Laverntive: US escalates the terrorist activity in the Al-Tanef area in Syria

The Russian President’s special envoy on Syria Alexander Lavrentiev affirmed that the United States is escalating the terrorist activity in the Al-Tanef area in Syria.

Lavrentiev said in an interview with TASS agency”: There is an escalation of the terrorist activity in some Syrian territories, I would like to stress that the main source of this activity currently is concentrated in Al-Tanef region, which is controlled by the American forces, and where the Rukban camp is located, which Washington stubbornly refuses to dismantle”.

Lavrentiev explained “the active training of the ISIS terrorist organization militants and other armed groups continues there with the aim of sending them to carry out terrorist operations on Syrian territory”.

In addition, Lavrentiev said: Moscow will host the next summit related to Syria between the guarantor countries (Russia, Turkey, and Iran).

He added:” The decision of holding a new summit was taken in 2022, and there were certain preconditions to hold such a meeting at the end of 2023, but the situation in Gaza Strip has confused everything and other issues have emerged that require rapid intervention”.
