Baghdad announces reaching agreement with Washington on putting a timetable for the departure of US forces from Iraq

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry on Thursday announced that it had reached an agreement with the United States to put a timetable for the departure of US forces from Iraq.

In a statement, the ministry said that the Iraqi and US governments have agreed to “put a clear timetable that specifies the duration of the presence of international coalition advisors in Iraq, begin the gradual reduction of its advisors on Iraqi soil, and end the coalition’s military mission.”

The ministry pointed out that “the agreement includes the transition to comprehensive bilateral relations with the coalition’s countries, including political, economic, cultural, security and military relations that are consistent with the vision of the Iraqi government.”

This agreement comes after repeated American attacks on Iraqi military sites, causing many casualties, which the Iraqi government strongly condemned.
