Syrian Virtual University launches two programs for learning Arabic and Chinese languages for non-native speakers

Damascus, (ST) – The Syrian Virtual University launched two programs for learning Arabic and Chinese languages for non-native speakers, during a ceremony held at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

The Arabic language learning program for non-native speakers aims to teach trainees the basic linguistic skills that help them communicate more deeply with the Arab world and its diverse cultures and master this language, which enhances cultural communication and works to strengthen positive relations between different societies.

The Chinese Language Learning for Non-Native Speakers program was also designed to teach the Chinese language to beginners and help them take the first step in learning this language. This matter become very important at the present time, as the learner will be introduced to the most important components and concepts of the Chinese language and it provides the learner with the basics of reading and writing and it expands language skills to enable learners to conduct simple daily conversations using the Chinese language.

In a speech, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, representative of Dr. Najah Al-Attar, Vice President of the Republic and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Virtual University, stressed that launching the two programs in partnership with a number of local and Chinese authorities is an important and vital step in consolidating the historical and strong relationship between the two countries and the two peoples.
