Lavrov : Washington’s policy concerning the Palestinian issue is worrying
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov considered that the deceptive policy which characterizes the US diplomacy regarding the Palestinian issue is worrying and disturbing.
He recalled that Israel is attacking the Palestinians in the West Bank and desecrating the holy sites in Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
“Major political considerations and humanitarian values require urgent measures to be taken for a ceasefire in Gaza Strip”, The Russian Foreign Minister said on Tuesday in an open session of the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East.
He added “there is also a need to take steps aimed at preventing further destabilization of the situation in other parts of the Middle East. The UN Security Council has so far been unable to provide an adequate response to this fateful challenge”
The Russian Foreign Minister criticized the United States’ stand which hinders all efforts and initiatives to stop the bloodshed in the occupied territories.
Lavrov also criticized the American-British aggression against Yemen, stressing that it constitutes a threat to international peace and security.
