Syria qualifies for knockout stage of AFC Asian Cup after beating India 1-0

Syria on Tuesday beat India 1-0 in their final Group B match at AFC Asian Cup and qualified for the knockout stage for the first time in the history of Syria’s participation in the Asian Cups.

Omar Khrbin scores the only goal of the game.

The Syrian team qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament by finishing among the best four teams that finished third in the group B stage, in accordance with the tournament system.

In another match that took place within group B the Australian team tied with its Uzbek counterpart 1-1.

Australia maintained the lead in Group B with 7 points, followed by Uzbekistan with 5 points, then the Syrian team with 4 points, and finally the Indian team with no points.
