Euro-Mediterranean Observatory: The occupation’s targeting of thousands of displaced people in Khan Yunis is a consecration of the crime of genocide.

Occupied Al Quds – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor confirmed that the Israeli occupation’s targeting of thousands of displaced Palestinians in the Al-Mawasi area, west of the city of Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, is a perpetuation of the ongoing crime of genocide in the Strip..

The Observatory explained in a statement today that the occupation forces have escalated their attacks on the city since last Sunday evening and besieged shelter centers housing tens of thousands of displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area and in the entire western part of the city, indicating that it documented the occupation’s bombing of 5 shelter centers, which led to the death of more than 70 Palestinians. Dozens were injured.This systematic targeting of the displaced confirms the occupation’s insistence on implementing its plans to forcibly  to displace the people of the Gaza Strip

The Observatory indicated that thousands of displaced people in the region were forced to flee again towards Rafah and Deir al-Balah, but the occupation forces targeted them even when they were fleeing, which led to a number of martyrs and wounded.In addition the occupation forces .carried out field executions against a number of Palestinians during their attempt to reach a besieged house west of Khan Yunis in order to help 50 people from their families.

The Observatory pointed out that a new mass grave was built inside the courtyard of Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, in which more than 40 martyrs were buried, as it was not possible to transfer them to the cemetery area where the occupation tanks are stationed and are  bulldozing and exhuming graves, in addition to the fact that the occupation forces continue to invade hospitals, as they stormed Al-Khair Hospital, west of Khan Yunis. It detained its medical staff while surrounding Nasser and Al-Amal hospitals

The Observatory stated that the Al-Mawasi area is an agricultural area located on the coast of Khan Yunis and Rafah, and its area does not exceed 5 thousand dunams.It has become a shelter for hundreds of thousands of displaced people after the occupation forced the people to move there claiming that it is a safe area, during the first displacement orders it issued on the 13th of October.

The Observatory stressed that the occupation’s aggression against shelter and displacement centers is a clear violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law and amounts to war crimes, stressing that this requires the International Court of Justice to accelerate its decision to take urgent measures to stop the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip
