A Palestinian state should be established, says Lavrov

Moscow, ST) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned of the escalation of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and other regions in the Arab and Islamic worlds, unless justice is achieved and an independent Palestinian state is established with Al-Quds as its capital.

Lavrov said in an interview with CBS: The anger we witnessed last October 7 will be repeated, and more and more generations will feel that they are outcasts. Therefore, justice must be achieved and a Palestinian state should be established.

Regarding US-Russian relations, Lavrov said: The destruction of the foundations of these relations began during the era of former US President George W. Bush.

Lavrov said that even if Donald Trump assumed the presidency in the United States, the situation would not be better, even with regard to Ukraine, because there would not be any difference in American policies.

He indicated that former US President George W. Bush began to destroy Russian-American relations and all agreements related to strategic stability.

On December 13, 2001, George W. Bush, who was the US President then , notified his Russian counterpart about the United States’ unilateral withdrawal from the Ballistic Missile Treaty, and six months later, on June 13, 2002, the document became invalid.
