Guterres: Recognize the right by everyone  of the Palestinian people to build their state is essential

Kampala, (ST) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres renewed his call on everyone to recognize the right of the Palestinian people to build their state. He stressed that any denial of this right is unacceptable.

AP quoted Guterres as saying during the nineteenth summit of the Non-Aligned Movement countries held in Kampala that refusing to accept the two-state solution, as well as denying the right of the Palestinian people to establish a state is unacceptable.

“Therefore everyone is required to recognize the right of the Palestinian people to build their state”, he added.

Guterres said: This would indefinitely prolong a conflict that has become a major threat to global peace and security.

The number of victims of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip has risen for the 106th day to more than 24,900 martyrs and 62,300 wounded.
