Palestinian Foreign Ministry: Immediate ceasefire is needed in Gaza

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire, rather than only diagnosing the consequences and dimensions of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip.

“What is required now is an immediate ceasefire, and not just diagnosing the humanitarian catastrophe,” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday reported by WAFA News Agency. .

The mission of international officials, the United Nations, and the international community is not limited to publishing more statistics about Palestinian victims, warning of the humanitarian crisis, expressing their concerns, and directing demands to the occupying state that does not listen, rather, the mission includes assuming their legal responsibilities, according to the ministry.

“The moral imperative is to cease the fire immediately and take the necessary practical measures to protect civilians and secure their basic needs,” the ministry also said.

The Ministry explained that despite the official and popular international demands to stop the ongoing genocide against people in Gaza, and despite the continuous warnings about the consequences and dimensions of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe there, the Israeli occupation continues to commit more massacres against Palestinian civilians in Gaza Strip, claiming the lives of nearly 200 citizens per day on average.
