Sabbagh calls for mobilizing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and ensure the entry of aid

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Bassam Sabbagh stressed the need to mobilize all efforts to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, ensure the entry of humanitarian aid to them, and stop attempts at forced displacement in all its forms.
During his participation in the fifth ministerial-meeting of the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, which was held on the sidelines of the preparatory meeting for the nineteenth Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement countries currently being held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, Sabbagh stressed the need to hold Israel accountable for its criminal actions. In this regard, he praised the initiative of the Republic of South Africa to sue Israel before the International Court of Justice for the crime of genocide against the Palestinians.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed that peace and stability in the Middle East region will not be achieved without ending the Israeli occupation of the Arab territories occupied since 1967, and without the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights and establishing their independent state.
The Group of Friends of Defending the Charter discussed all the serious violations that the United Nations Charter is exposed to, most notably the Israeli aggression that has been continuing for more than a hundred days against the defenseless Palestinian people, and the crimes of genocide committed by the occupation authorities against them, which have claimed the lives of thousands of innocent Palestinians. .
The meeting adopted a political declaration, in which the participants expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people and their strong commitment to support their struggle to achieve their inalienable rights, end the Israeli occupation, and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The declaration also expressed deep concern about the repeated Israeli attacks on the sovereignty of Syrian territories, welcoming efforts aimed at holding Israel accountable for its crimes, and categorically rejecting all unilateral coercive measures used as tools of political and economic pressure against any country, especially developing countries and their peoples, calling for their immediate, unconditional and complete lifting of these measures.
