Syria participates in the 44th session of ICESCO in the Saudi Arabia 

With the participation of Syria, the consultative meeting of the national committees of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) kicked off on Wednesday in Jeddah .

The consultative meeting coincides with the 44th forty-fourth session of the ICESCO’s Executive Council meeting to promote joint Islamic action educationally, culturally and scientifically.

The Director-General of the ICESCO , Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al-Malik, stressed in his speech the importance of the organization’s role in its fields of specialization and building bridges of cultural dialogue and interaction with other peoples’ cultures.

He pointed to the great challenges facing the Islamic world in the fields of education, culture and science, and the necessity of acquiring scientific research skills in a way that is commensurate with the rapidly changing and transforming world.

In turn, the Minister of Education and Chairman of the National Committee for Education, Science and Culture, Dr. Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini, stressed the  importance of joint work in developing educational prospects and the  coordination  in the areas of platforms and digital transformation.

He noted that the Ministry of Education in Syria has taken distinguished steps in this field through educational platforms and the virtual laboratory.

During the meeting , which will run until the 18th of this month, a presentation on the opportunities and challenges facing Islamic action was made , along with the future of the organization, its goals and strategy, and the major events and activities that will take place in member states.
