Six Syrian academic musicians completed their tour in China under the supervision of the international Chinese “Poly Culture Group”.
The Syrian musicians were invited to participate in an orchestra that brings together musicians from Russia, Italy, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Egypt and Syria to perform 24 concerts on the most important stages in Chinese cities that have become famous around the world.
The Syrian delegation included professors at the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus, and members of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra, namely timpani player Ali Ahmed, harp player Rahaf Sheikhani, violinist Arwa Sheikhani, horn player Fouad Shalghin, viola player Qais Abu Fakhr and bassoon player Tony Al-Amir. Their tour in China included exchanging musical experiences as well as cooperation and musical training activities as well as musical workshops for youths and adolescents.
“China is a developed country in various aspects, and has the most important theaters in the world, in addition to being distinguished by its local cultural experiences, which makes the country a rich cultural station for everyone working in the field of culture and music,” the musician Ali Ahmad told a SANA reporter.
He described this musical tour as a rich experience through which the delegation managed to present the image of the Academic Syrian music which is characterized by accurateness, commitment and professionalism.
