The distinguished oud player Kenan Adnawi participated in Fujairah International Oud Forum in its second edition, which was organized by the Fujairah Academy of Fine Arts in the United Arab Emirates.
Adnawi said in a statement to SANA correspondent that his participation came at the invitation of the forum’s administration to present his compositions and play the oud on the third day of the forum.
An invitation was also extended to oud maker Ibrahim Sukkar from the city of Aleppo to attend the forum’s activities.
The forum, according to Adnawi, included a group of oud players from Arab and foreign countries, and musical performances dedicated to the oud were presented, in addition to the announcement of the Ziryab International Prize in cooperation with UNESCO, which was awarded to an oud player from Iraq.
The Syrian oud player indicated that he participated in the forum with a set of musical pieces and with a variaty of a Syrian traditional melody.
It is noteworthy that Adnawi was born in Latakia in 1984. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Music in 2008 and is considered as one of the most important oud players graduated from the institute.
He won the first place award in the International Oud Competition in 2009 in Beirut. Adnawi is the founder of ” Faces for Oriental Music” band and he played within a number of other bands.
