Palestinian Foreign Ministry: International failure encourages the occupation to commit crimes, and it is time for justice to prevail

The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that international failure and inaction is what encourages the Israeli occupation to commit crimes, stressing that the Palestinian people are looking forward today to South Africa’s plea before the International Court of Justice in the lawsuit it filed against “Israel” for committing genocide crimes in Gaza Strip, as it is a historical event and it is time for justice to prevail.
The Foreign Ministry explained in a statement today, reported by Wafa Agency, the necessity of holding “Israel”, the occupying power, accountable using all legal tools, and through international justice institutions. It indicated that Israel is continuing its crimes as a result of the international failure to take practical steps to hold the Zionist entity accountable and also as a result of the complicity of some countries in committing the crime of genocide through using the veto and supplying “Israel” with various types of lethal weapons and political support, instead of assuming their responsibilities to prevent and punish the crime of genocide.
The Foreign Ministry called on all countries, that support the principles of international law, to support South Africa and its move before the International Court of Justice, noting that Palestine will continue to coordinate with South Africa in order to mobilize the international community to clarify “Israel’s” committing of the crime of genocide and explain its legal dimensions.
