Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghabbash discussed with the Ambassador of the Republic of India Irshad Ahmad means of enhancing cooperation and coordination in the health field.
During a meeting held in the Ministry’s building on Wednesday Al-Ghabbash stressed the depth and strength of relations between the two countries at all levels.
He pointed out that India has been supportive of the health sector in Syria, mainly after the earthquake disaster and the Corona pandemic, especially as India has qualitative medical expertise.
The Minister of Health said that Syria seeks more cooperation with India in the field of effective pharmaceutical industries, as it is a developed industry and has a reference from the government and the Indian Ministry of Health.
He called for exchanging experiences by sending Indian doctors to Syria with the aim of raising scientific and medical competencies and expertise.
In turn, Ahmad expressed India’s readiness to increase coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the field of human cadre training, by sending delegations to India to exchange experiences or attracting experts from India to Syria. The aim of this matter is to hold scientific lectures and seminars related to the health field, in addition to the possibility of preparing a memorandum of understanding in the field of grants and training courses.
