Palestinian Education: 4,156 students  martyred since the start of the aggression on the Gaza Strip

The Palestinian Ministry of Education announced that 4,156 students were martyred and 7,818 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank since the Israeli occupation began its aggression against the Strip on October 7th.

Wafa Palestinian News Agency quoted the ministry as saying in a statement today: ” The number of students who were martyred in the Gaza Strip since the start of the aggression reached more than 4,119 martyrs, while the number of those wounded reached 7,536, in addition to 37 students who were martyred in the West Bank and 282 others who were injured, as well as to 85 being detained.

The Ministry added: “221 teachers and administrators were martyred and 703 were injured in the Gaza Strip, while 5 were injured and more than 71 were detained in the West Bank.”

The Ministry pointed out that the occupation bombed 343 schools, including 65 UNRWA schools in the Gaza Strip, 7 of which were completely destroyed, 83 were severely damaged, while 38 schools in the West Bank were stormed and vandalized.

The Ministry indicated that the occupation targeted 90 percent of the Gaza Strip’s schools, where 29 percent of them could not  operate because they were exposed to total demolition or severe damage.On the other hand 133 schools were used as shelter centers in the Gaza Strip.
