Mariamite Cathedral in Damascus holds divine mass on the New Year
Celebrating the New Year, the Mariamite Cathedral in Damascus held a divine mass on Monday, presided over by Patriarch John X Yazigi of Antioch and All East for Greek Orthodox.
In a sermon during the mass, Patriarch John X Yazigi prayed for peace in Syria and for the Syrian people who have been suffering from unjust blockade and an aggressive war that affected all walks of life in the country.
The patriarch also prayed for peace in occupied Palestine and in the entire world.
He prayed to God to protect the Syrian people, army, and leader and to restore security and prosperity to the country.
