Kosachev: U.S. support to “Israel” is behind its crimes in Gaza

MOSCOW, Dec.26,(ST)- Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, confirmed that what we are witnessing today in terms of “Israel’s” crimes, killings, destruction and disasters in the Gaza Strip is a natural result of the Western position led by the United States and its unlimited support for Israeli intransigence.

In an interview with the correspondent of the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA ) in Moscow today, Kosachev said: “The basic issue of the Middle East should have been resolved    before more than seventy years ago in accordance with the will of the international community, which was reflected in the UN Security Council’s decision to establish two states.”

He indicated that this solution would have established peace in the region, and made the Middle East a prosperous region for all its people.

Kosachev affirmed that Russia’s position on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state is firm, and called on international organizations to respect and support the rights of Palestinians.

During a press conference held today in Moscow to draw the basic results for the year 2023, Kosachev indicated that the failed attempts of the West, led by the United States, to provoke and inflame conflicts in the Middle East region aim to change governments that it does not like in the region.

In response to a question by a SANA reporter at the press conference, Kosachev said: Syria, under its leadership and people, thwarted these attempts, and Syria remained the main state that rejected any foreign interference in its affairs, despite the foreign occupation, and primarily the American occupation of parts of its lands, and its practice of banditry and theft of the natural resources of the Syrian people. .
