The Iraqi government: The American attack on military sites is an unacceptable violation of the country’s sovereignty

The media office of the Iraqi Prime Minister said in a statement: “What happened at dawn today of targeting Iraqi military sites by the American side under the title of response led to the martyrdom of a member and the injury of 18 others, including civilians.This  is a clear hostile act that does not contribute to “establishing security and stability, as this act works contrary to the declared desire of the American side to strengthen relations with Iraq.”

The statement explained, “This step harms bilateral relations between the two countries, and will complicate ways to reach understandings through joint dialogue to end the presence of the international coalition, and above all, the step represents an unacceptable violation of Iraqi sovereignty.”

The statement added: The Iraqi security forces “succeeded in establishing security and stability, and achieving victory over the terrorist ISIS gangs, which no longer pose a threat to Iraqi national security. The statement further added: “Achieving victory over ISIS terrorist gangs was achieved and consolidated through thousands of precious sacrifices.” Therefore, preserving the fruits of this victory is at the core of our security and strategic priorities, and we will not allow any party to harm them.”
