The initiative taken by the Syrian young man, Dr. Zain Al-Abidin Ali, to help those affected by the earthquake that struck Gansu Province, northwest China, last week, was welcomed and appreciated at various Chinese official and popular levels.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin, in his official account on social media, praised Dr. Zainal Al-Abidin’s initiative, which was demonstrated by his humanitarian work in helping the people affected by the earthquake in Gansu Province.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman wrote: “The young Syrian man rushed to the areas affected by the earthquake in Gansu Province to help,” recalling what Zain Al-Abidin said, “The Damascene rose that was watered with Chinese water grew and grew with love and kindness, referring to the path of mutual love between China and Syria”.
Wang shared the video of Dr. Zain Al-Abidin, which he filmed from the earthquake-affected areas.
Zain Al-Abidin volunteered as part of the Chinese Nanjing “Blue Panther” team, which participated in helping those afflicted in the province, where he contributed to providing humanitarian and material aid to many affected families. This act received a positive response by the Chinese people and media, as Chinese television channels broadcast a full report about the Syrian Youth’s Initiative, extending greetings and appreciation to Syria and its youth.
In a statement to SANA correspondent in Beijing, Dr. Zain Al-Abidin affirmed that what he did was a humanitarian duty towards the country in which he resides, as for him, he only returned the favor to the Nanjing team that provided assistance to Syria, during the earthquake Syria was exposed to last February. This Chinese assistance left positive impact on the Syrian people.
