Damascus, (ST) – The Minister of Education, Dr. Muhammad Amer Al-Mardini on Sunday discussed with the Regional Director of the Middle East and North Africa Office at the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA), Naji Khalil and the accompanying delegation means of enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
The two sides also discussed providing the necessary support for the priority needs of the educational process in Syria.
Minister Al-Mardini indicated that the Ministry is making efforts to ensure the optimal functioning of the educational process, and to rebuild and maintain schools damaged as a result of terrorist attacks and the earthquake. He referred to the importance of focusing on preparing training programs and qualifying teachers, and following up on the restoration of schools in cooperation with the organization.
In turn, Khalil expressed his appreciation for the Ministry’s projects and the agency’s readiness to provide possible support to a number of current priority projects. He presented a brief overview of the Adventist Agency and its goals by providing humanitarian relief and social care to those in need.
