Dr. Fadia Deeb, Assistant Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Affairs and Scientific Research, discussed with the Iranian Assistant Minister of Education for Research and Technology Sajed Mohammad Alinejad, and Vahid Haddadi Asl, acting Iranian Minister of Education for International Affairs, means to strengthen scientific relations and scientific research between the two countries.
During the meeting that took place in Tehran today, Deeb stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and exchanging experiences between the two sides, by keeping pace with development, modernity, and technology in various fields, in a way that serves the production process and links it to scientific research topics.
The aim is to hold scientific conferences and exchange student scholarships in scientific and research specializations needed by universities and scientific research centers in Syria, in addition to establishing joint scientific laboratories between the two countries.
For his part, Haddadi stressed that the Iranian government attaches special importance to cooperation with Syria in the field of education, research and technology, pointing out that it is necessary to develop and deepen this cooperation in a way that serves the interests of the two countries and peoples.
On the other hand, Dr. Deeb, in a meeting with Iranian Assistant Minister of Health Abbas Shirawan, discussed activating the scientific exchange agreement between the two sides and benefiting from Iranian expertise in the fields of stem cells and organ transplantation.
Shirawan stressed the importance of joint cooperation in the health field and benefiting from shared experiences in the field of medical and therapeutic education and joint scientific research.
In addition, Dr. Deeb met with members of the leadership of the Iranian branch of the National Union of Syrian Students. Dr. Deeb debated student-related-issues with those available at the meeting.
The Assistant Minister stressed the necessity of pursuing educational attainment, paying attention to scientific research, and the importance of science and knowledge in keeping pace with the requirements of the age of modernity, techniques, and advanced technology.
