President Al-Assad receives members of the Central Leadership of the Baath Party in Lebanon

Damascus, (ST) – President Bashar Al-Assad on Wednesday received members of the Central Leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party in Lebanon, led by Secretary-General Ali Hijazi.

President Al-Assad stressed during the meeting that the parties bear a great responsibility in strengthening relations between peoples, in addition to their role in defending national issues.

The President added that the Baath Party and other national forces and parties in Lebanon played a role in strengthening the fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon.

President Al-Assad pointed out that what threatens Lebanon threatens Syria, and that the stability of Lebanon contributes to the stability of Syria as well.

In turn, members of the delegation stressed the fraternal relations between Syria and Lebanon and the necessity of fortifying these relations for the benefit of both countries. They also stressed the Arab role of the Baath Party in fortifying these relations, especially since it is a cross-sectarian party.
