Syria has offered condolences to the Chinese government and people over the victims of the earthquake that hit Gansu province, northwest of the country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Wednesday that the government of the Syrian Arab Republic extends deepest condolences to the government and people of China over the victims of the earthquake that struck the northwestern part of the country.
“Syria affirms its solidarity with the leadership, government and people of China, wishing speedy recovery to the injured,” the ministry added.
The ministry concluded by stressing that Syria is confident that the great Chinese people will overcome this ordeal.
More than 110 people died on Monday as a result of a magnitude 6.2 earthquake that hit Gansu province near the borders with Shanghai province in the northwest of the country. The earthquake led to the injury of dozens of people and caused massive damage.
