DAMASCUS, Dec.18, (ST)-Today, the Minister of Education Mohammad Amer Al-Mardini discussed with the President of the Christian World Union Alexei Cherkizov and the accompanying delegation the ways to enhance educational cooperation between Syria and Russia.
The minister talked about the strong Syrian-Russian relations, especially in the educational field, stressing the importance of teaching the Russian language and spreading it at schools.
For his part, Cherkizov expressed the organization’s readiness to support and follow up on initiatives that benefit both sides, especially in the field of competitions held for Syrian students in the Russian language to encourage them to study it, besides postgraduate studies in the Russian language that are being offered to Russian language teachers and organizing visits for them to Russia.
Today, the Christian World Union and the Ministry of Education awarded 87 diploma certificates and 17 course completion certificates to Russian language teachers after they completed a 3-month course, besides honoring 27 students who won first places in the Russian Language Olympiad and the festival competition for the years 2022-2023.
