Ministry of Social Affairs, UNICEF discuss ways to cooperate in the filed of childhood protection

Minister of Social Affair and labour Louai Al-Munajjid discussed with Director of the Children Protection Department at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), James Gray, ways to benefit from the organization’s existing skills and expertise in the field of staff capacity building and psychological support.

The meeting which was held in the ministry building, focused on discussing files related to the child protection sector, including violence against children, guides to psychological support and parental care, and a case management system to ensure the provision of quality and advanced services to the category of children in order to achieve their protection.

Minister Al-Munajjid indicated that the Ministry will work to launch a dialogue with non-governmental organizations and civil associations concerned with the childhood file in various governorates. The dialogue is to discuss the two guides for psychosocial support and parental care to reach outcomes that would unify visions about the foundations, methods, and activities of psychosocial support and acquire the skills required to train other people in this field.
