Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the permanent members of the country’s Security Council on Friday, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
“Current socioeconomic issues were discussed at the session,” he said. “The participants in the meeting also exchanged opinions on the situation in Ukraine,” Peskov said.
“Apart from that, they discussed the state of affairs in the Syrian settlement process in light of the results of the recent round of negotiations in Montreux as part of the Geneva-2 conference,” he said.
The final stages of preparations for next month’s Winter Olympic Games in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi were discussed as well, he added, according toVoice of Russia, Interfax.
