The art of painting on glass

Aleppo (ST) – The art of painting on glass is considered as one of the ancient arts that depend on transforming an ordinary piece of glass into a beautiful artistic painting, through the use of oil, resin, watercolors, glue, or any materials used for drawing, with the aim of creating a unique piece of art.

The talented Syrian woman Mirna Khalil, who used to participate in art exhibitions related to this field, stated that she has tried various types of drawing on pottery and wood, but she found in drawing on glass a special magic due to its transparency and the reflection of natural colors.

Her talent varies between drawing on ceramics, such as plates, cups, and writing on them, and this stage requires placing these utensils in a hot oven to dry them.

Mirna said that she allocated a small corner in her house for drawing on glass to be the nucleus of a small project with different products through which she participates in exhibitions to market and benefit from as a source of income. Mirna relied on marketing her products on social media platforms.

In the same field, Antoinetta Bahar stated that she joined several drawing courses to improve her talent, and she developed her project by participating in exhibitions with the support of a number of civil associations.
