Mansour: the UN General assembly’s resolution on ceasefire in Gaza is historic

The Palestinian permanent representative to the United Nations Riyad Mansour assured that the General Assembly’s resolution on ceasefire in Gaza is historic in terms of its being a strong message of the rejection of the majority of countries in the world of the Israeli occupation’s aggression.

Wafa quoted Mansour as affirming in statements today that the world witnessed a strong, noble, great position by the General Assembly, with 153 members supporting its resolution and 10 opposing it, to adopt a resolution, demanding the occupation stop an immediate ceasefire in Gaza for humanitarian reasons. He referred to the previous calls of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, and the call of 13 countries in the Security Council for a ceasefire.

Mansour stressed that efforts will continue in the Security Council to adopt a ceasefire resolution that will secure the entry of basic humanitarian aid, including fuel, medicine, and food, and distribute it in Gaza Strip immediately.

For its part, the Palestinian resistance affirmed that the General Assembly’s decision reflects the will of the majority of the international community to stop the aggression and Zionist war of annihilation against Gaza. Where only 10 members voted in favor of the continuation of the Nazi Holocaust, led by the United States, which exposes its bias towards Zionist fascism, calling on the international community to continue to pressure the occupation to adhere to the resolution and stop its aggression.

For his part, Speaker of the National Council, Rawhi Fattouh, indicated that the vast and overwhelming majority in the world voted in favor of the resolution, calling on the international community to use effective tools to force the occupation to implement it.
