Syrian-Russian Friendship Committee holds talks with Russian Ambassador in Damascus

DAMASCUS, Dec.12, (ST)- Today, the Syrian-Russian Friendship Committee at the People’s Assembly [Parliament] discussed with Ambassador of Russia to Syria Alexander Efimov means of enhancing parliamentary ties between the Assembly in Syria and the Russian Duma for the interests of both peoples.

Charmin and members of the committee called for intensifying efforts at all levels to enhance bilateral relations, appreciating stance of Russia in support of Syria against terrorism.

For his part, Ambassador Efimov stressed his country’s determination to back Syria and its people.

“My country is a main supporter for the peace process in the Middle East,” the Ambassador said, considering that the Israeli acts of aggression on Syrian territories is a violation of the international law that poses threat to civilians’ life.
