Syria, Iran discuss the latest regional and international developments

Tehran, (ST) – Prime Minister Engineer Hussein Arnous met at his residence in Tehran this morning, Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian. They discussed bilateral relations and the latest regional and international developments.

Arnous reviewed what was accomplished during the meeting of the Syrian-Iranian Joint Higher Committee, and the results it achieved in various economic fields.

Arnous said: The governments of the two countries are working with all their might to implement what was agreed upon on the ground in order to achieve practical achievements that serve the interests of the two countries and the two friendly peoples in light of the unjust pressures and sanctions they are exposed to.

The Prime Minister added: Combined joint efforts will thwart the pressures and strengthen the steadfastness of the two countries.

Arnous stressed that bilateral cooperation will reflect positive results on both sides and the entire region.

For his part, Ahmadian stressed the depth of Syrian-Iranian relations. He said: Syria has an important and pivotal role in the region.

Ahmadian expressed his confidence that Syria will return stronger than it was.

Ahmadian pointed out that the axis of resistance is strengthening despite all the pressures and threats.
