Foreign Ministry: The American veto confirms that Washington is waging the war on Gaza Strip alongside the Israeli occupation

Damascus, (ST) – Syria condemned the United States’ use of the veto against a Security Council draft resolution that aimed at stopping the continuous Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the afflicted Gaza Strip.

Syria also stressed that the veto proves for a thousand time that Washington is not only a partner in the massacre being committed by the occupation, rather, it is waging the war in Gaza Strip alongside the occupation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Saturday said in a statement: In the name of all noble meanings of humanity, and in the name of international law and international humanitarian law, Syria condemns using the veto by the United States against a draft resolution that aimed primary at stopping the massacre being committed by the racist Zionist entity against the Palestinian people.

Syria also condemned at the same time the disastrous policies of the United Kingdom, which abstained from voting, as well as Western policies that encouraged the occupation for 64 days to commit crimes of genocide and mass destruction in Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The Ministry added that the United States has torpedoed the draft Security Council resolution that calls for an end to the massacre being committed by the occupation in Gaza Strip, at a time when the foreign ministers of some Arab countries were leaving the US State Department, where they made another attempt to persuade Washington to put pressure on its Zionist friend to stop the massacre.

It stressed that the use of the American veto indicates for the umpteenth time that Washington is not only a partner in this massacre, but that it is waging war in Gaza Strip alongside the occupation, with the aim of annihilating the Palestinian people, and establishing the so- called “Greater Israel” on the remains of the children and women of Palestine after their homes and cultural heritage were wiped off the face of the earth.

The ministry indicated that the new American veto comes as a continuation of Washington and its allies’ obstruction of about 100 draft resolutions in the Security Council, which has led to the continuation of killing against the Palestinians without deterrence since 1948 until today.

It pointed out that the United States and some of its allies have recently resorted to mobilizing their fleets on the shores of The Eastern Mediterranean to encourage the Zionist entity to continue its aggression. The U.S. and its allies have also provided the Israeli entity with an uninterrupted supply of weapon shipments to kill the remaining people of Gaza, including internationally banned weapons, such as the incendiary phosphorus weapons, and to use these weapons also against Lebanon, so that the primary goal of the Zionist entity and its Western allies becomes clearly visible.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that the United States’ continued support for its agents in the Syrian Al-Jazira region, the US strengthening of its bases in Hasakah and Deir Ezzor governorates, and not allowing the repeated Israeli attacks on civilian airports and other sites in Syria to be condemned, comes within the framework of a Zionist plan to eliminate Arab aspirations in all Arab countries, which goes in harmony with the liquidation schemes of Western countries, as these countries are trying to activate the plans in support of the Israeli occupation, ignoring that the future of Palestine is the exclusive right of the Palestinian people.

The Ministry reaffirmed that the American and Western support for the Israeli occupation, especially the claim about what is called (Israel’s right to self-defense), is absolute hypocrisy, and that this is a recipe that cannot be intrepreted on the ground except as a permission for the occupation to continue its massacre against the Palestinians.
