The meeting of Joint Ministerial Economic Committee for Cooperation between Syria and Iran began in Tehran
Tehran, (ST) – In the Iranian capital, Tehran, the meetings of the Joint Ministerial Economic Committee for Cooperation between Syria and Iran began on Wednesday. It was chaired for the Syrian side by Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, and for the Iranian side by the Minister of Housing and City Building, Mehrdad Bazarbash.
During the meetings, axes of joint cooperation and the final versions of the documents that will be signed will be agreed upon at the conclusion of the meetings of the Supreme Committee, which is headed for the Syrian side by Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and by the Iranian First Vice President Muhammad Mokhber for the Iranian side.
In a statement to reporters, the Minister of Economy Samer Al-Khalil stressed keenness to raise the level of relations between the two countries, especially in the economic field.
Al-Khalil said: During the visit, all aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the economic and trade fields will be discussed, and the progress made in relations between the two countries will be highlighted, especially after the visit made by Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to Syria.
Al-Khalil pointed out the interest, seriousness, and real and sincere will on the part of both sides to develop this cooperation, and there are a number of cooperation documents being prepared at the technical level, and they will be signed during the meetings of the Joint Supreme Committee.
For his part, Iranian Minister Mehrdad Bazarbash said that many of the agreements between the two countries have entered the implementation stage and some of them are about to be completed, and we are consulting about them, pointing out that the establishment of an Iranian bank in Syria has been completed and the bank will begin its work in the coming few days.
