Syrian and Pakistani prime ministers meet on the sidelines of COP28 summit

Dubai – Prime Minister Hussein Arnous on Saturday met with his Pakistani counterpart Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on the sidelines of the World Climate Action Summit being held in Dubai within the framework of the 28th Conference of parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28).

Arnous affirmed the strong relations between Syria and Pakistan and thanked Pakistan for supporting Syria and providing humanitarian and relief assistance to the people affected by the earthquake that hit Syria last February.

He noted the need to reactivate the agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries to serve the distinguished bilateral relations.

For his part, the Pakistani Premier expressed hope that all the obstacles that impede implementing the signed agreement, particularly in the fields of tourism and air transport, will be eliminated for the mutual interests of the two countries.

Kaker invited Arnous to visit Pakistan for discussing ways to enhance economic, cultural and educational relations.
