Organization of Islamic Cooperation affirms support for the rights of the Palestinian people

Riyadh, ST) – The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation on Wednesday renewed its firm and full support for the rights of the Palestinian people, and the necessity of stopping the crimes of the Zionist entity against them.

The Organization also renewed its full support for launching a political path, under international multilateral sponsorship, that leads to ending the Israeli occupation and establishing the independent State of Palestine.

The organization  on Wednesday stressed in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People the necessity of implementing the resolution issued by the extraordinary joint Arab and Islamic summit held in Riyadh. It said: The absence of justice, international legitimacy, and double standards encouraged (Israel) to continue its crimes and enabled it to escape from punishment and contributed in prolonging the conflict that undermines international peace and security.

In its statement, the Organization called for the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding the need to stop the aggression immediately and completely, as it is a war crime and a crime against humanity, in addition to ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid and basic needs to the Gaza Strip and providing international protection for the Palestinian people.

The organization considered that the continued escalation of attacks, crimes, incitement and organized terrorism practiced by extremist settlers portends more violence and tension.

The organization warned of the danger of continued Israeli attacks on the holy places in the occupied city of  Al-Quds (Jerusalem), especially on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Today marks the anniversary of the “International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,” an opportunity to reaffirm support for the rights of the Palestinian people and support for their just cause, which has gained momentum at the regional and global levels in light of the Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
