Pope of Alexandria: We Pray for Peace in Syria

CAIRO- “We pray for the attainment of peace in Syria and for the safety of the Syrian people, and we pray to God to guide those who commit evil to the path of repentance,” Pope Twadharos II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate has said.

Pope Twadharos II, who was speaking yesterday during a requiem held at the eve of the Epiphany at the Mark Cathedral in the Egyptian city of Alexandria, also urged prayers for peace in Egypt.

Last year, Pope Twadharos II said that it would be better for Syria and the entire region if the Arabs unified their efforts to solve the crisis in Syria peacefully and through dialogue.
