On the occasion of International Children’s day: Monuments, general information and documentary films at the cultural center of Banias  

On the occasion of the International Children’s day, the palace of culture in Banias, the Department of children’s culture and the life skills team held events and activities entitled “Monuments, General Information and Documentaries”.

About the activity, the child Culture Officer, Ms. Razan Hassan, said:

On the occasion of the International Children’s day, an activity was held today, which included introducing children to the monuments and archaeological sites in Banias such as Al Markab Castle and Al sabyTower’

in addition to showing a documentary film.Children were also introduced to the lunar and solar months, the meaning of each month, four seasons and the months that comprise it, the reason for the development of the lunar and solar months, as well as the calendar and the reason for its existence, in addition to the importance of the lighthouse, which is a symbol of the coast and the need for its presence near the ports.

Head of Banias Antiquities division, engineer Malik Sharif, participated in this activity and said: the children were provided with a brief overview of the most important archaeological sites in Tartus governorate and Banias city to learn about the history of our ancestors and our culture, which is part of our identity.we also defined the Antiquities as a collection of buildings, ideas and books left by the ancestors, which are part of their identity and thinking at that time, in addition to some instructions and directions that must be followed during the presence of children in archaeological places, including preserving the site and not tampering with it, in addition to maintaining its cleanliness.
