Syria participates in a symposium in Algeria on the role of social dialogue in supporting the stability of institutions
Syria is participating in the national symposium organized by the Arab Labor Organization in the Algerian capital, entitled “The Role of Social Dialogue in Supporting the Stability of Institutions and Establishing Social Peace.”
The Syrian delegations to the symposium, which was opened yesterday, was represented by Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions Jamal Al-Qadiri, the Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Damascus Dalin Fahd and the Director of the Labor Market Rama Tubal Ali.
In a statement, Dalin Fahd highlighted the importance of the symposium, which comes after the Arab Labor Conference, in its 49th session in 2023, had adopted the Arab Decade for New and Comprehensive Social Dialogue, under the slogan “social dialogue, is our path towards a secure, just, and sustainable future.”
Fahd pointed out that the Arab Decade represents a common ground to all parties, adopts the principles of understandings and consensus, unifies visions and joins efforts to achieve the general goal.
The two-day symposium focuses on the forms and levels of social dialogue developed in Arab countries, the role of the Arab Labor Organization in promoting social dialogue, the role of social partner organizations in supporting and guiding employers and workers to confront and mitigate crises, and the role of dialogue in expanding the umbrella of social protection services in the unorganized sector.
