President Al-Assad: Syrian society never ever accepts wahabi and takfiri ideology

DAMASCUS, (ST) –”the Syrian society, known for its amity and tolerance for centuries, will never accept the wahabi and takfiri ideology. Moreover, this odd and dangerous ideology  does not only threaten Syria but also the entire region’s nations, “underscored President Bashar Al-Assad.

President Al-Assad’s remark was made during  H.E. meeting with a delegation of the Anglican Church comprising clergymen from USA, Sweden, Switzerland, Lebanon and Syria, headed by Amjad Beblawi, Mission Coordinator for the Middle East at Presbyterian Church in the USA.

“actually, most of the statesmen in the  west  in general and in the U.S leaders in particular are far from comprehending the reality and nature of the region and the interests of its peoples.Hence, they  are ,regarding the region’s issues, working only to achieve nothing  but their own  interests, “underlined President Bashar Al-Assad.

The delegation’s members ,for their part, voiced  their solidarity with Syria .

They reject any foreign intervention in the Syrian affairs, hoping that peace and security will prevail again in this country, which is a living example of  cultural and religious variety.
