Union of Journalists: The crime of targeting Al-Mayadeen work team will not silence the voice of justice and truth

The Union of Journalists has strongly condemned  the treacherous crime committed by the Israeli occupation by targeting  Al-Mayadeen Channel staff, which led to the martyrdom of correspondent Farah Omar and  camera man  Rabei Al-Maamari.

It considered  this systematic targeting  as a war crime according to international laws and norms and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

“This crime confirms the continuation of the Zionist entity’s systematic policy and its ongoing crimes of targeting journalists to silence the voice of truth that exposes the occupation’s inhumane practices and its ongoing aggression against the Palestinian people” The Union indicated in a statement which SANA received a copy.

The Union called on international organizations and international federations to shoulder their responsibilities towards the Zionist entity’s continued targeting of journalists and committing brutal crimes against them, stressing its support for Al-Mayadeen Channel in its professional career  and resistance policy.
