Palestinian presidency demands an end to the occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian presidency demanded a complete cessation of the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people.

Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein Al-Sheikh said in a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency that President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership appreciate the international efforts that have been made to reach a truce agreement in the Gaza Strip. They renew the call for a comprehensive cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, and the necessity of introducing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions that guarantee the end of the occupation and the Palestinian people’s attainment of their freedom and independence.

For its part, the Islamic Jihad Movement confirmed that the truce agreement aims to strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, and represents a victory for the issue of prisoners in the occupation detention centers and an introduction to the liberation of all prisoners and the lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The movement said in a statement: The truce agreement includes the entry of hundreds of aid and fuel trucks, freedom of movement, an end to targeting and arrests, and a commitment not to attack or arrest anyone in all areas of the Gaza Strip. It added that the steadfastness of the people of the Gaza Strip and their adherence to their land in the face of the massacres committed by the occupation, forced the occupation to submit and release 150 women and children in exchange for the release of 50 of their detainees.

The movement stressed that it would not release the occupation officers and soldiers detained until all Palestinian prisoners were liberated. It stressed the continuation of confronting the aggression until all its goals are thwarted.
