Israeli Occupation turns Gaza hospitals into mass graves

WAFA  agency said in a report that the Israeli occupation did not only commit about 1,300 massacres during its ongoing aggression for the 43rd day running , which resulted in the martyrdom of more than 12,000 Palestinians, including 5,000 children, the loss of 3,750 under the rubble, and the injury of more than 30,000, most of them children and women, but it also prevents the burial of martyrs in cemeteries, and forces medical staff and hospital workers to bury them in mass graves in hospitals’ yards. The occupation later  digs up these graves  and takes out the bodies  to unknown places which represent a violation of all human values and international laws

Medical sources at  Al-Shifa complex explained that at least 179 martyrs were buried in mass graves in the courtyards of the complex, after their bodies decomposed as a result of the prevention of the occupation forces from   burial in cemeteries.

The sources noted  that among the martyrs were 7 infants  who died as a result of cutting off  electricity and fuel from the hospital.Theoccupation forces also kidnapped bodies from the complex’s refrigerator and from the cemetery that was dug in its yard, and transported them via trucks to an unknown destination.

In the northern Gaza Strip, medical sources at the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia reported that a sandy football field adjacent to the hospital was turned  into a mass grave to bury dozens of martyrs whose  families could not reach them to identify them as a result of the continuous occupation shelling.

While  sources at the European Gaza Hospital confirmed that the occupation forces turned hospitals in the Gaza Strip into morgues and cemeteries after overcrowding bodies in their yards, in a  flagrant violation of the most basic rules of human international law.

Mahmoud Khalla explained that during his displacement  from the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in western Gaza to Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip, he saw hundreds of bodies lying in the streets and alleys , most of them women, children and infants  and anyone who tried to carry them  was  shot  by the occupation forces stationed in tanks along the road.

In the same context, The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced its intention to evacuate patients and its staff from Shifa Hospital in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has become the target of Israeli bombardment and has turned into a death zone.

“WHO” is seeking with its UN partners to work out urgent plans for the immediate evacuation of the remaining patients, staff and their families,” the organization said in a statement reported by AFP on Monday.

On Saturday,  the organization led a team of United Nations representatives on a mission to Shifa Hospital in Gaza, which has become the target of Israeli raids, declaring that the hospital has become a “death zone” and plans must be made for the evacuation of the hospital.

In its statement, the WHO  explained that “the effects of shelling and shooting were clear. The UN team saw “a mass grave at the entrance to the hospital and was told that  more than 80 people were buried there”. The statement pointed  out that the lack of clean water, fuel, medicines, food and other basic aid during six weeks caused the largest and most advanced hospitals in Gaza to stop working.

The organization also noted that 291 patients, including 25 children “in very critical condition” and 52 caregivers are still in the hospital, indicating that the corridors and floor of the hospital are full of medical waste and medicine.

For his part, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stressed through the X platform that the organization continues to call on everyone to protect the health sector and civilians, expressing regret at what is happening in Gaza because the current situation is “intolerable and unjustified,” calling for “an immediate ceasefire.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli occupation forces deliberately target hospitals, committing brutal war crimes there , and invoking the justification of this to public opinion with the presence of gunmen inside hospitals.

CNN did not rule out the possibility  that the Israeli occupation army might transfer weapons to Al-Shifa Hospital, and then present them to journalists  to claim that it  had found these weapons  inside the hospital to justify its  crimes against civilians, the sick and the wounded.
