Cairo, (ST) – The 58th regular meeting of the specialized Arab federations operating within the framework of the Council of Arab Economic Unity (CAEU) of the League of Arab States was held yesterday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of Syria’s permanent representative to the League of Arab States and the head of its diplomatic mission in Egypt, Ambassador Hossam El-Din Alaa.
In their speeches, the participants in the meeting affirmed support for the Palestinian cause and rejection of the violations practiced by the Israeli occupation authorities, including the murders of Palestinian children and women in Gaza, and the systematic destruction of buildings and institutions with internationally prohibited weapons.
They called for an immediate halt to the ongoing Israeli attacks, breaking the unjust siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, and respecting the rules of international law, the protection of civilians, and the delivery of necessary aid.
Mohammadi Ahmed El-Ni, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity said during the opening session: The world is currently witnessing great changes and multi-polarity. China and the BRICS group are growing in their economies. He called on Arab countries that possess the history and resources to contribute to this change and to hold conferences and events in Syria.
In turn, the Chairman of the current session, Muhammad Al-Qadah, Head of the Arab Union of Productive Families, Crafts and Traditional Industries called for more efforts to support family industries and achieve sustainable development.
“These excerted efforts are in order to reach fruitful results at the executive level, and in order to advance broad trade exchange between Arab countries”, Al-Qadah said.
He stressed the necessity of establishing an Arab society collaborator for progress and prosperity.
For her part, Carolyn Zhao, Vice President of the Silk Road Project Association, said: In 2013, we proposed (One Belt, One Road) to reshape the global economy, and 29 presidents signed the agreement, and many institutions focused on this initiative because there cannot be peace without development for peoples.
Zhao added that the Silk Road supports all projects to create added value
