In a new war crime, the Israeli entity forces thousands of Palestinians to evacuate Gaza Al-Shifa Hospital

The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday forced thousands of wounded people, patients, medical staff members and displaced persons to evacuate Al-Shifa Medical Complex, west of Gaza City after a 9-day siege accompanied by daily bombardment that lead to the martyrdom and injury of tens of people.

Medical sources in Gaza reported that after warning that the Al-Shifa medical complex should be evacuated within an hour; the occupation forced 7,000 injured people, patients, medical staff and displaced persons to evacuate the complex amid the deployment of the occupation’s tanks, military vehicles and snipers in all over the complex and its vicinity and amid massive destruction in the Strip.

The sources added that 150 critically ill patients stayed in the hospital due to the difficulty of getting them out along with five doctors to care for them until they get evacuated.

Many doctors described the evacuation process as difficult. They were forced to raise white flags and walk difficult and destroyed roads, pushing patients on wheelchairs and sickbeds, and helping the wounded to walk the destroyed roads.

The occupation forces besieged Al-Shifa Medical Complex for nine days, destroyed its medical equipment, and caused the death of wounded people and a number of premature babies.

Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila affirmed that what is happening in the Al-Shifa Complex is a war crime and a crime against humanity committed against the Palestinian people, a disgrace to the international community and a violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and international agreements.

Al-Kaila pointed out that the occupation exposes the wounded and the sick to death when it forcefully evacuates them from the complex. She called on the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities in stopping the war of genocide being committed by the occupation against 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza Strip.
