WHO: High prevalence of diseases in Gaza

The World Health Organization has expressed concern about the spread of diseases in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli aggression continues. This has led residents to pile up in shelters with severe shortages of food and clean water.

“We are very concerned about the spread of diseases with the advent of the winter season,” Reuters quoted WHO representative in the Occupied Palestinian Territories Richard Peperkorn as saying today.

”More than 70 thousand cases of acute respiratory infections and more than 44 thousand cases of diarrhea have been detected in the overcrowded sector, and the numbers are much higher than expected,” Peppercorn added.
