“Aleppo Mosaic” exhibition inaugurated at the old Aleppo Community Center

With the participation of more than 15 craftsmen, the Syrian Development Trust and the Riad Naddaf Cultural Forum have inaugurated today an exhibition of handicrafts and heritage, entitled ” Aleppo Mosaics” in the old Aleppo Manara (community Center).
The two-day exhibition includes various types of handicrafts, painting on glass, resin, Aleppo laurel soap, handmade rugs, accessories and mosaic works.
The coordinator of events and activities for the Syrian Development Trust in the old Aleppo Manara Shamram Maqdis, confirmed that the Trust has been keen to provide support for the exhibition, as it is concerned with displaying handicrafts of a heritage nature.
The director of the Riad Naddaf Cultural Forum stated that the forum was established five years ago, and this is the first exhibition the forum inaugurates, noting that the forum includes various types of handicrafts and heritage of Aleppo Governorate.
 More exhibitions are scheduled to be held in order to revive Aleppo cultural heritage, she added.
Ghofran Maktabi,  one of the participants explained that she participated through displaying artistic works made of mosaic stones that are cut according to their official perspective, so that the paintings are drawn accordingly, pointing out that her passion for mosaic art came from her belief in reviving the handicrafts and tourism industries.
Sanaa Homsi said: She participated for the first time by presenting paintings, watches and accessories made of resin by pouring on wood and glass.
 Bashar Nasimi from the Old Sabika “Alloy” Company spoke about his participation whivh includes displaying various types of soap, Aleppo laurel, perfumes, incense, oil, and Aleppo pilon.
