The World Food Program warns of the collapse of food systems in Gaza

The World Food Program in Palestine warned of the collapse of food systems in the Gaza Strip due to  running out of fuel and foodstuffs, and the closure of bakeries as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

The speaker for the World Food program in Palestine Alia Zaki confirmed that all the residents of the Gaza Strip are in need of humanitarian assistance. She warned of the danger of diseases emerging and spreading in the Strip in the light of the inability of the people to obtain nutritious food and clean water.She also spoke about the damage to sanitation facilities as a result of the Israeli aggression.

The Speaker said:” their immune system will be weakened because they do not eat enough food to help them overcome all the challenges they face now. People do not have the basic necessities that protect them from the risk of diseases that can spread, especially with the approaching winter and the heavy rains that we are witnessing now”.

Zaki stressed the need to provide fuel to help those in need, and said: “Without fuel, trucks cannot move, mills and bakeries cannot work, and life will stop”.
