Palestinian Minister of Health: International community should take action to rescue the wounded and medical staff in the Al-Shifa complex

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST)- Palestinian Minister of Health Mai Al-Kaila affirmed that the complete silence of some countries has encouraged the Israeli occupation to storm into the Al-Shifa Medical Complex in a crime against humanity and a flagrant violation of international law.

She stressed the need for the international community to act as to rescue the wounded, medical teams, and displaced persons in the complex.

Al-Kaila said in a statement on Wednesday: The occupation and the international community bear responsibility for the lives of patients, medical staff, and displaced people in the Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza. She warns that the occupation will commit a massacre inside it.

Al-Kaila said that the storming was part of a series of crimes committed by the occupation against the complex, as it imposed a strict siege on it for several days, during which it bombed more than five of its buildings and fired fire and missiles at thousands of wounded, displaced, and medical personnel present there, whose fate is currently unknown.

Al-Kaila pointed out that this new crime comes after the occupation committed massacres against hospitals, medical teams, and ambulances since the beginning of its aggression against the Gaza Strip on October 7, which left more than 700 martyrs and wounded.

Al-Kaila stressed the need for the international community to move quickly to save the wounded, the sick, medical staff, and the displaced in the Shifa complex and the rest of the hospitals in the Strip, in accordance with what is stipulated in international agreements, international law, and international humanitarian law.
