Syrian traditional crafts exhibition at Damascus University

With the participation of Al-Quds International Foundation, Union of Arab Historians, General Union of Craftsmen, and Arab Writers Union, the College of Arts and Human Sciences at Damascus University held an exhibition entitled “The Academic Contributions to the History of Al-Quds”.

An organizer at the General Union of Craftsmen, Anas Ghannam, told Syria Times that the aim of this exhibition is to introduce Syrian traditional crafts that are unknown to many, particularly the new generation, such as the Aghabani craft, in addition to many other handmade productions such as flutes, candles, perfumes, accessories, scarfs, gloves.

Maysaa Dahman from Damascus Chamber of Industry, talked about her work in everything that is related to accessories and the precious stones, relating it to the stars and astronomy.

Another participant who works as a beekeeper talked about her beehive products such as honey, honeycomb, and propolis and all of these products are used as medicine. The most interesting thing is that she managed to extract personal hygiene products like the shampoo, glycerin soap with honey and propolis, and creams and masks for skin and hair.
