“Art in Resonance” Exhibition

The committee of businesswomen at the Homs chamber of Commerce opened the ” Le-alfan Sada ” exhibition in the Sobhi Shoaib Fine Arts Gallery as its first experience to display distinctive works of art that were worked on and completed during the workshop that preceded the exhibition and lasted for three days.

The “Art in Resonance” showed 35 paintings by 15 artists.This workshop was a great supporter of their artistic talents.

Mr. Ayad Darak Al-Sibai, president of the Homs chamber of Commerce, stressed the importance of holding these cultural activities and the need for commercial events to support these activities, that give absolute confidence, hope and optimism in the ability of Syrians to create despite all difficulties.

The head of the businesswomen committee Afaf Al Hassan stated that the committee has introduced a new field within its activities, which is art, whether sculpture, calligraphy or drawing, in order to attract the largest number of talented young painters of different ages, where the businesswomen committee provides the necessary support to encourage them and show their talents in painting or sculpture.

Plastic artist Heba Al-Ali participates in the workshop with a painting that expresses “Mother Nature”, which embodies the human condition from the early beginning until he reaches the end of his life, overcoming the difficulties and obstacles that confront him during his life’s journey.

Helena Orfley, a third-year  medicine student, said that this is her second participation in the field of art and she participates with a painting depicting female beauty with her childish features.

Mohammed Arouq, third year, Faculty of Fine Arts, participated with a sculpture that embodies the philosopher Socrates in the last moments of his life when they gave him a choice between drinking poison or compromising his values, so he chose to drink poison, explaining that he teaches sculpture at Sobhi Shoaib center and this is his first experience with the Homs Chamber of Commerce.
